PKU MIT question

For the PKU-MIt bypass for the immobolizer, the directions say to jump the ignition wire to power up vehicle ignition. How do I do that? step 4

PKU MODULE PROGRAMMING MODE
You will need 2 valid keys. Proceed as follows:
1- Insert first key and turn to the IGN “ON” position for 5 seconds.
Remove the first key.
2- Insert second key: turn to the IGN “ON” position for 7 seconds.
Remove the second key.
3- For the next 2 steps position & hold the PKU module (screw side) towards the front
of the ignition barrel (key cylinder). (Coil Loop is NOT USED during PK programming)
4- Using a jumper wire, power up vehicle ignition, without starting vehicle. After approx. 7 secs,
the “THEFT” light comes “ON” solid. “THEFT” light will then flash and return back to
solid to indicate the PKU module is now programmed sucessfully.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Once the PK (Transponder Bypass) portion has been programmed to a vehicle, it cannot be used on
any other Mitsubishi vehicle. (This a Mitsubishi transponder key feature from factory.)

take a piece of scrap wire, strip both ends, and touch it between constant 12volts at the column and ignition at the column....
