headlight problem

All of a sudden, my driver headlight (NON-HID) is a lot dimmer than the passenger side. Also, the hi-beam on the driver side works when the lows are on, but when they are clicked on full, it goes out. I tried new bulbs in both, but can not figure out why the heck my whole left assembly seems to not be working properly.

any thoughts?

btw- fuses seem to be ok.

ok, so I have full power running to the passenger side lights, but only about 1/4 of the power running to the drivers side. I checked the fuses and the power across the fuse is not there.

Anyone?

Check ohms from headlight wiring to the fuse box.

what kind of car is this so that i can look up a schematic...you're positive all the bulbs are correct? do any of the sockets look corroded? have u checked all your grounds within the headlight circuit?

The problem seems to be compounding itself. The voltage is back at the fuses, but the headlight is still acting the same. When i turn on the right turn signal, the amber goes out and the lo and hi-beams alternate like a signal. This is turning into gremlins. I checked the connectors inside like others had mentioned and every connector looks clean and like new. I have not yet measured the ohms at the light plug, but I am sure the bulbs are correct as I have swapped them left to right trying to diagnose the issue. As of 20 minutes ago, my rear passenger side amber is out, but the bulb appears to be good.

I'm at a loss and I fear this is turning into a nightmare.

well, it's fixed.... mostly. The headlight safety that keeps you from turning on the lights when the key is out doesn't work, but everything else seems to be back to normal.

It was a ground on the passenger side that had come off when I was adjusting and moving some other grounds. I believe it was off the whole time, but the wire had been touching. Over the weekend, it must have shifted in the engine bay and come off. Once I reconnected, it all seemed to work again accordingly.

fingers crossed.
