Upgrading MR gauges to Defi's...

...can I just unhook the Boost/Temp/Volt gauges and install the Defi gauges...pretty much plug and play?

Or do I need to make totally new connections?

Its not 100% plug and play. But if you pull out the oem gauges, you should see a wire harness that connects the gauges to the radio harness. Makes it easier to splice these wires instead of the radio wires. Also, you can use the vacuum line off the boost gauge for the Defi gauge.

So where would you

A) get the signal for the voltage
b) get the signal for the temp

it's best to uninstall the OEM gauges and keep/sell them complete (wire harness and temp sensor).
DEFI's will work with their own sensors/senders for boost, oil temp, water temp, whatever gauge you buy. The voltage is fairly simple you just get the signal from a 12v source, i.e. where you would get the + for the gauge's lightning.
