Alpine CDE-HD137BT won't powered on

Purchased an Alpine CDE-HD137BT head unit and installed it but won't turn on. Used an Metra adapter and connected the wires accordingly to their colors. Grounded the black wire to one of the screws in the back behind the head unit (NOT on to the head unit itself, I know that sentence might seem confusing ).

I checked the continuity of every cable in case I didn't crimp the butt splices properly but every wires was crimped properly.

Measured the voltages on the yellow and red wires and I get the following

Yellow wire - ~12.35V
Red wire - ~12.33V with ignition turn to ACC
~0V with ignition turn to off

I can see the fan behind the head unit spining for a short duration then stops and starts up again. Can it be a faulty head unit or something I'm not doing? Any help is greatly appreciated!
