Sub Box in Rear Seats?

so i have my evo caged and thus no back seats, i am in the process of getting a sound system together and i reallyyyyyyy do not want to put my subs in the trunk. i will be going with 2 kicker compVR 12's and just wondering if anyone has made a custom box to fit in the rear seat location?

I'm sure just about any decent audio shop could fab something up for you.

I did in my Ralliart, I drilled 4 holes and bolted a board down, then strapped the sub box to that board with tie downs. It didn't look stupid either IMO just cut the board a bit smaller than the box. This way it's "quick disconnect" as well.

Installing the sub in the cabin is a very good thing, audio-wise. The only thing I'd suggest is not running a pair of woofers. Run one. As you've caged the car and removed the rear seat (presumably to save weight) that extra driver can add ~3dB to the sub's amplitude and have a positive effect on reducing the sub's distortion, but at a relatively big cost in weight. It simply isn't needed.

Why the Kicker woofers? They're relatively insensitive and require a fairly large enclosure. Not a great choice for this.

Good luck.

I sold him these subs. This was the second set of Kickers I've owned and I must say this is a nice setup. The extra sub does add weight but not really noticeable. You could run a single woofer but I recommend leaving it the way it is, you won't be disappointed.

FJF it is a Kicker ported box with a port about 12" yes it's pretty big but the sound you get is great! He also got this setup for a killer price I must add

Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting for him to remove one driver from the enclosure, but to use a single driver in a single-driver box. Multiple drivers are typically used to alter the impedance of the sub and to look cool. In a numeral sense, the addition of a second woofer raises the sensitivity by ~3dB, raises the (ultimate) amplitude by ~3dB and lowers distortion. It is what it is.

The sound you get will be great, but (only as suggestion) you don't think about more little setup, for mantain the "structure" of your car?.

Good luck with your setup.
