Evo 4 Stock Radio Wiring

Hello everyone, I am currently looking for a wiring diagram for the stock radio in the 97' Evo 4 as I am putting in a new deck. I can't seem to find anywhere for the "legend" of the wire colors. Unless everything uses the same type of colours. (ie: Yello = Power, Black = Ground, etc...) which is what I thought before, but someone told me they are all different to each make/"brand".

I downloaded a few manuals and have had no luck yet

Anyone have info on the stock Evo 4 deck wiring?

Search and yea shall find. http://www.modifiedlife.com/2004-mit...iring-diagram/ oops, sorry '04 not Evo 4. My bad. You might try some of the '97 diagrams though. I doubt Mitsubishi took the time to change their coding, but I could be wrong.

It's somewhat the same, but I think I may go with a 97' Mirage one I found.

U found? Just search my above post link and see if anyone of the '97s has the same wiring designations as any of the other Mitsus of that year

Well, I went off of a 97' Mirage wiring and so far.. only the power, ground and remote seem to be correct. None of my speakers work and when I turn off my car it stays on along with the clock?... Some odd wiring there. But I have 3 wires that are unused from my stock deck, yellow, Yellow/blue, and blue/white.

I thought Blue/white was ALWAYS the remote wire, but apparently the Blue one is for this car..

Anyone have any input on this? I really want to avoid continuously swapping wires to find out what is what because of the + and -'s on the speakers.

Also interested

Did you use a wiring harness for a 97 mirage for your install or did you tap and solder into the wiring?

Hey dude, haven't been on here in forever. I tried looking through my old PC's notes on this and I cannot find anything as to what i did to make the radio unit work/what the diagram was. I can only remember that it was based off the 97 mirage, if you can find a diagram of that. Some of the speaker wires were opposite though.

The Lancer evo 4/5 shop manual has the wiring diagrams, they aren't listed in a table single table but over the 2 pages of diagrams it shows every wire color and position.
