Double Din Selection Help

Hey Everyone,

So Recently I purchased a Double din for my Evo. I opened the box and came to find out that it does not really fit my bezel that well. It has about an inch of free space top to bottom which really bothers me. I am guessing I did not buy a 7" even tho the title of it says it is. Could someone please provide me with an Alternative? The radio I chose was because it was affordable and it does have the option to add navigation if I ever decided to do so.

I purchased a - Pioneer AVH-X1600DVD 2-Din Multimedia DVD Receiver with 6.1" WVGA Touchscreen Display

I figured just the display was 6.1" and the buttons and everything filled in the rest. I guess i was wrong?

Anyone able to help me here

An INCH of space all around is unusually out-of-the-norm! Did the headunit not come with a trim ring? If not, source one. They're all pretty universal. Im unfamiliar with that headunit tho.. a trim ring may need some modification if the headunit has a motorised screen..

were can I find one of these Trim rings? I sent the radio back for a different model so ill see how this one fits. Probably will still need the trim to fit it all together.

Your local audio specialist should be able to get one for you no worries. Ebays an option too. Just search for "double din trim ring".

Do you have a picture of what you're talking about? Here's mine but with a 7" screen. My screen actually doesn't fill the entire space. I think one of the new 8" Alpine models would fill it completely with possibly some slight trimming but I think would look even better.

Did you buy your headunit used? The inch measurement is typically the viewable screen size, not the outer diameter. For instance, a "7"" and a "6.1"" should be the same size unit overall, just a different size screen.
