So I went out to look at my cabin air filter to day and I found this strange black wire that seemed out of place. I followed it down to the passenger side plastic panel that would be by your right foot if you sat down. I pulled the panel off and found a relay was spliced in. Then i followed the wire the other direction and it lead to a switch right next to the OBD2 port. Any thoughts on what this might be? Pictures attached.
The black wire leads over to the switch and the other terminal on the switch is diconnected so it appears to do nothing at the moment. Makes me curious for sure though...
hmmmm......need to know what the white wire does. That could help explain what the relay/switch combo is for.
Exactly. I was looking through wiring diagrams last night but they are kind of difficult to navigate when you don't know where to start. Not sure if I am going to have time to work on it right now anyways since the car gets shipped to Alaska tomorrow. I'm thinking its a kill switch or something that disables the ignition. That would make the most sense to me.
