Just bought this car back in October and it now has an SES light on.

Just received my Tactrix adapter and Evoscan software yesterday, I go to plug it in and find this tom foolery.

Anybody have any ideas why someone would do this and how to get it back to OEM?

Looks like they spliced in a 3.5mm and there is just a random wire hanging by a thread.

 

Upon further investigation, This car does not have the white flash port connector.

Do you suppose they chopped that off and did their own hack job to be able to tune this thing?

If anybody can confirm that it is a green w/ white stripe wire going to the connector, that would be wonderful.

 

Ok, how about I rephrase my question.

How does the flash port and tactrix adapter work together?

Does that pin only need to see 12v+ or a GND to allow the ECU to be flashed?

 

I don't think I have seen an Evo without the white flash port

 

Get the shop manual from Evoscan website and dig around for wiring diagrams for OBD/flash ports.
