Capacitor wiring...

I have a question reguarding to a capacitor. Can i run the ground from the - on the amp to the - on the cap and then to the frame or do i have to run the amp's - and cap's - seperately to the frame?
I'm just a little confused on whether how to wire this capacitor...

I ran my amp ground directly to the capacitor ground. Then grounded the capacitor to the frame.

You sure can, theres no problem with that.

Thanks, I appreciate it!:D

Oh yea one more thing. Do you know to what voltage i am supposed to charge this capacitor up to? Because I've heard a few places say 11, or 12?

What type of cap? Have you checked the manufacturers website?

ya check the manufact sometimes they require you to do it certain ways but then again its probbaly ok.

Usually the cap comes with a little bulb that you put in between the positive and negative terminal. Or also a little white resistor that charges the cap. Then just remove when the bulb goes out and you are good to go!

The resistor is usually nothing special. Just a 1000 ohm resistor. If you use a resistor be careful not to touch the leads while the capacitor is charging, because those suckers get freaking HOT! (speaking from experience)

all depends on the cap. Some need to be self ground and the amp will have to be also. Some you can just put both negatives on the cap and be fine check the manual
