Point of Resonator in Exaust??

I bought my exaust from RnR and noticed it doesnt have any resonating sections like many other vendor exausts do.. Im assuming these widened sections in the exaust are for an exaust note. I wonder if theyre are any gains to be lost or had by resonated exausts...

A resonator is basically a muffler. It will quiet the exhaust note at the cost of slightly disrupting the exhaust flow. We are talking 2-3hp here, at the cost of having a car that is loud as hell and sounds like crap.

Just call your brother next time and ask. We are getting a resonator for Nick's WRX because it is a bit too loud for him, and I am getting one welded in for the 2.5RS because it's too loud.
