Car almooostttt dying with Greddy Type-S

Sorry to make another "BOV problem" thread but I didnt run into the answer by searching.

Installed the RRE kit for the Greddy BOV, recirced. I'm using the stock airbox. The BOV seems to run nicely most of the time, but every once in awhile, when getting off the gas to inch forward or go over speedbumps, the car will almost die.... like it wants to stall but it just dosent by a few hundred RPM's.... its hard to replicate the problem because it dosent do it always. What could be causing this?

Also, I have a MBC which is set at 20.5 PSI, but its spiking now more than ever with the Type-S installed. It used to spike a bit before which I didnt like, but now it spikes a whole lot more (say it used to spike to about 1.5 bar, now I saw it go all the way to 1.6ish!). Would this be related to the type-S or is this just the MBC?

thanks for the help everyone

ok i just had major problems with this with my GFB... thing is the GFB is quickly fixable. What i had done was accidentally turned the VTA % all the way up. when you do this your running rich as hell because air that has already been accounted for is no longer in the equation. there should also be two types of spring adjustments. One adjustment controlls how long the valve stays open, while the other spring controlls what kind of force is needed for the valved to open. you most likely need to harden the spring that controlls how long it is vents. If its all the way open, then everytime you take your foot off the gas your expelling way to much so your running rich as hell and stalling. You need to really play with it.

Hrmm... would anyone recommend some type of adjustment to it? I thinking of just throwing the stock back on there...

Consider the MR BOV. Works great!

I have the RRE Greddy also it would almost stall in every configuration. The only solution is a engine management to fix that.

Hrmm... thats the thing about BOV's.... 5 ppl will swear by a valve... then you'll have 5 others the valve dosent work for... even with the MR BPV!

Do you guys think the spikes are being caused by the Type-S? It never spiked this high before!

the GFB one is very similiar to stock.. you can just run it full recirculate and you know you wont be leaking any boost.. if you want a little sound, you can throw a little on. It works like stock and is fully adjustable. If your running a full VTA, then your going to be having problems.

I don't have experience with Greddy Type-S, but most likely you spikes more because your new BOV doesn't leak like your old OE valve. You may want to turn down your boost a bit to compensate for spikes. You might want to try to tune your boost level at higher gear (like 4th gear?). Have it set to your prefer boost level in 4th gear and see if it still spikes too much in your lower gears.... you should be ok if it spikes a little less (like 1.5 bar) then back down to your boost setting immidiately.
