Beam me up Scotty

The other day I heard a loud metallic snapping, followed by an immediate shift in the wieght to the front of the vehicle. The car made it home alright, and I've only driven it once since.

Problem: The car will accelerate if and only if I am very light on the throttle. (my 0 to 60 times are over 30 seconds)

Symptoms (when I try giving more throttle): The car will jerk forward and then back again, the rpms will not increase, air comes into the cabin through the two front vents (which coincides with a hissing sound), and occasionally black smoke is emitted from the tail pipe.

Is this a boost leak, or something worse?

it sounds like one of your intercooler connections came loose......I had the same problem you did when i installed some aftermarket intercooler piping....one of the clamps came off (or i didn't tighten it enought) and the car made a loud metallic popping noise and presto it ran like butt bucking back and forth......so check your connections.....something probably came loose....

Best of Luck....
