You have to have the new ecu set to your key otherwise the car wont start.

it has to do with the immobilizer. His ECU is looking for his key. You may be able to get it to start by holding his key right next to the ignition while trying to start it, but I'm not sure if that will work. Just an idea. Good luck.

It's the immobilizer

hi all,

it's the immobilizer. ecu has to be programmed to recognize your key. my warranty for the 04 has free towing service. so i had them tow it to the dealer and they programmed it in like 10 min. what a pain but luckily it was free.
