Installed UR Test Pipe..No cutting wires for 02!!

Well, I just thought I would post since im sure some people have not gone with test pipes because they didnt want to have to deal with cutting and wiring the 02 sensor to eliminate the CEL. I did some research before purchasing the test pipe and I found this info. You can actually pull on the wires for the 02 sensor to extend them a bit. I was a bit worried about pulling on them but then decided what the hell Once I got the cat off I removed the 02 sensor, I plugged the bung on my catback (plug is supplied by UR) then I pulled on the wires gently, to make sure that there was some slack there. I was actually amazed at how easily it came out. You dont need to remove the rubber grommet, just pull the wire gently. I then screwed it into the test pipe and mounted the test pipe. There is no slack in the wire and I didnt have to cut and solder anything. It is very easy to do and I would recommend anyone that is installing a test pipe to try it.

PS, I have about 2-250 miles on the test pipe and no CEL *keeping fingers crossed*

I know this should be in "how to" but I figure some of you would be interested. I know I looked around forever before deciding to finally try the test pipe. If I knew it would have been this easy I would have don it a long tiime ago. Anyways hope this helps someone. BTW UR Customer Service rocks

I dont quite understand what you ended up doing with the O2 Sensor? Where did you stick it?

UR test pipe comes with a spot to put a Wide band or the 2nd o2 sensor. Kinda like a manual fix.

You actually relocate your 02 sensor from the catback to the test pipe. If you were to leave the 02 sensor in the catback you would get a CEL. As evo 8 ya mentioned its kinda like a manual fix to eliminate that. I definitely feel a difference with the test pipe, not bad for $75 from UR. The exhaust is a bit louder but not much, my exhaust wasnt loud to begin with.

I have this UR pipe too and I also just extended my wires and did not cut them. This pipe sounds great, good quality, adds good power and Cheap!!! NO CEL either!

Hmm, I dont know what your problem is gsujeff55 I have heard of people having problems, well not problems, but still getting the CEL with the simulator. I have probably put about 500 miles now on it and so far so good.

I use a helix test pipe with the same kind of extended 02 sensor flange fix plus the antifoul trick. No CEL for 8k miles.

Yeah, with the UR Test Pipe you dont need the antifoul plugs, you just screw it into the pipe and your done
