Fujitsubo Rm01a or Works Stealthworks

They are both quiet. Which makes more power given that you use the 76mm works intermediate pipe?

I've heard the Fujitsubo necks down through the resonnators, and the stealthworks necks down the muffler. Niether is perfect, but I think that's what it takes to be very quiet. Ideally Buschur would have something this quiet!

back from the dead...

i'm actually contemplating the very same set-ups. i am seriously considering the stealthworks muffler w/ 76mm IP, along with a resonated test pipe.

any thoughts?

Some of the quietest exhaust for the EVO:
Fujitsubo RMO1A (one I have)
Fujitsubo Legalis R
RS-R Ex-mag
B & B (Billy Boat) catback

Possibly quiet:
Works Stealth Works ...

I have heard nothing but praise from the RS-R Ex-mag owners. Very good ehaust that looks like stock but is proven to make significant and noticeable gains throughout the rev range. Sounds as quiet as stock at idle and low rpm but produces a good mean grunt in the higher rpms. It is a full 3" or possibly larger exhaust but still is super quiet. Do not get this exhaust confused with the rsr gt exhaust which is loud as all hell.

i currently have the RSR Ex-Mag...it looks "nearly" stock, but is not near stock sound level, at idle or cruising. it's not bad by any means, but definately very noticeable dB difference.

i'm wondering if I'll lose much by replacing my 80mm RSR Ex-Mag cat back with a WORKS 76mm intermediate pipe and Stealthworks muffler?!?!?!?

I would take the Works resonated IP and thier regular muffler over the stealth, paint it black if you must. I believe it is the same DB. level as stock, full 3' and all SS unlike the "stealth" which is a modified stocker. Call them, they answer their phone.

Suprised the "x-mag" is loud. Good to know, I was intrigued.

I have talked to Pete over there...very helpful!!

I wasn't saying the ex-mag was loud, per se, but I keep hearing people saying it's near stock...and it's not. it louder than I would prefer, at this time.

I also have the RSR Exmag and it was louder then I though it would be. The first week after installing it I wanted something louder but after almost a month of having it I am happy with how loud it is.

At idle it does sound a bit like stock, but under load, the exhaust is pretty deep.

i'm not really concerned about finding an exhaust that makes more power than my Ex-Mag, but I certainly do not want to lose any.

by going with the 76mm WORKS IP I wold be eliminating the neck-down on my RSR at the cat-flange, however, I would then have a reduction in diameter at the other end (muffler).

i currently have a 3" UR downpipe and 3" resonated cat-delete(and 3" HFC)

just not sure what the difference would be, if any.

Fujit. no doubt. They are the oldest manufacturer of the Japanese companies that make exhausts. And it's super quiet.

Why not cut the part of the RS-R exhaust that tapers and weld a 3' pipe and flange at a muffler/performance shop. It would be a lot cheaper and you won't have to worry about it tapering like the works IP. Plus you get to keep you current exhaust.
In all honestly, you will most likely not lose anything with the neck down at the muffler ...

if u want a quiete exhaust get the tanabe Super medalion Hyper, I had it on my 05 EVO 8 and i loved it, very quiete during cruise even with a resonated test pipe, and nice deep tone on WOT, and i made good power with that exhast as well 330whp with just TBE, MBC, reflash, and K&N panle airfilter

trust me, I've researched every exhaust available and listened to more than I can remember. I chose the Ex-Mag for it's "quieter" characteristics and stock looking muffer/tip. The exhaust is fine...louder than I had anticipated, though.

I'm either going to keep what I have OR give the WORKS 76mm IP and Stealthworks muffler a try. I'm not interested in trying anything else. The stock appearance is something I definitely want to keep.

just curious if i should anticipate losing power with the modified stock muffler.
