boost leaking question..
boost leaking question..
ok..so say your stock bov is leaking boost..but u set your mbc so that you're still getting 19 psi holding to redline..even though the bov is leaking, is this any worse than if i were to use my forge and get 19 psi holding to redline? i mean I can physically tell the stock one is leaking and if i dont set my mbc high enough it only holds 16 or 17 psi..but is there any difference if i'm still holding 19 psi with either bov? i dont want to use my forge if i dont have to..i'd rather sell it for like 90 bucks or something and get a different part thats more useful
It'd Be Better If You Used The Forge Because You're Overworking The Turbo. By Having The Stock One Leak, And Increasing The Mbc 2-3 Psi, Your Turbo Is Essentially Pushing 21-22 Psi . . . Also Heatsoaking The Stock Fmic And Loosing Precious Hp.

I did this a while back. Not knowing the stock bov was leaking I had my mbc set to 21 psi after my DynoFlash. About 2 months later I replaeced it with a HKS bov and my boost went to about 24 psi.
I didn't know it was leaking til I switched bov's though. I just got rid of the HKS and went back to stock for a whiel and it sucks ***. I noticed my boost has gone down a little since I switched them out.
