How To: Eliminating A/C Belt

If anyone has been wanting to bypass the A/C but didn't want to spend $50+ dollars on an RS belt I have the answer for you.

560K6 will be the belt size you want to buy at your local parts store for $20 if you have a crank pulley mod.

710K6 is the a/c size. So as you can see it cuts off approx. 15 inches of belt if you have a crank pulley mod.

why would you need to eliminate the ac compressor if its just free spinning until the clutch kicks in when you hit the ac switch

BAAAH!!!! the 560k6 is just too short!! maybe by like 2 inches, maybe less. Look, take it from someone who just went through 4 different size belts and about 4 hours, they don't fit... perhaps that one by GATE that Al reffers to works better, I was using the brand that Advance Auto has (drive rite) 560k6, and I believe I tried 595, and 538 (the closest in size to 560) I am very cut up and frustrated and tired right now... AAAL, please tell me if the gate one goes on w/o any problems.

This was with a crank pulley actually... hehe. Oops... I thought I had listed it as a crank pulley. I guess I was too tired that day.

I'm suprised the 595 didn't work for you if the 560 is 2 inches short.

WORKS tried every belt we could get our hands on and none of them fit properly aside the one from Mitsubishi: http://www.worksevo.com/store/produc...roducts_id=120

Cody, I run the belt that I first listed 560k6 with my smaller crank pulley.

but the only reason this mod was worth it was b/c it was about 2 dollars per horsepower, I can handle that... but I dont want to pay $45 for a belt.

Well, you can spend less on the belt and have it too loose and start slipping and/or throwing belts or too tight and start putting excessive strain on the alternator, water pump and/or power steering (which will more than likely lead to premature failure). The other option mentioned is getting an aftermarket pulley. All of these options, however, will run much more than $45
