Found this out today at the shop when installing the helix pipe on an 05 Evo. The transer case is noticeably larger than the non-ACD version. The helix downpipe touches the TC and doesnt allow it to be attached to the hangers.

I wonder if any other manufacturers will have these issues also. It's a really tight fit now with the larger TC.

Just wanted to give you 05 owners a heads up.

i called helix today and they said the same thing they also said they are working on the new DP it will be done in about 3 weeks. to all 2005 evo owners do not buy DP unless it was made for 2005 .........

 

Since we suspected this would happen, we designed our WORKS Exhale DPs with the EVO VII. Therefore both our 70mm and 76mm downpipes work for all the '05 EVOs.
We are only offering our Ceramic Coated versions due to the long term ramificatins with radiant heat transfering to the transfer case.

 

is it just the helix dp that dosen't fit the 05 evo,or all evos dp's?that would suck if all of the dp out now for the 03/04 didn't fit the 05s

 

Our downpipes also fit the new 05 EVO and MR versions.

 

Helix is coming out with the new version DP that will fit the 05 EVO GSR and MR version. Stay tuned!

I have the Dc Sports Catless Downpipe, fits with no issues as well as the RSR.
If you want a cat or high flow cat, I've heard the HKS downpipe fits and also the Fujitsubo downpipe.

 

The TurboXS 3" DP fits 05's

 

I tried installing a Helix dp/Helix test pipe on my MR a few weeks ago thinking that it would fit, now I'm stuck with an extra downpipe!

 

I didnt buy my Helix DP from you so Im not flaming but....

I actually bought a Helix DP from another vendor because you were sold out, regardless, it fits like ****! Its right up against my TC. How long will it be until the 05 version is out and will it be more expensive?

 

does anyone know if the RMR downpipe will fit the 05 evos?

 

I've heard rumor that it does fit because when they designed it, it was designed off their Evo 7 rally car with the electronic diffs.
