Can you drive with untuned cams?

I am planning on installing some HKS cams (not sure which kind yet) and a UTEC. My problem is I may want to get the cams installed first, and then make the drive to get the UTEC tuned. Is it safe/possible to drive with the cams untuned for a few hundred miles to get the UTEC tuned? Would it be different for 264/264 or 272/272? What about 264/272? I did a search and it seems like it is definitely possible. I just need to know if it is safe. Thanks for your help.

Yes, it will be fine. I wouldn't try pushing it super hard till after the tune, but the car will run fine. With 272/272 you might get some stalls, since the idle will be off. Otherwize you'll be OK.

Good luck!

You will be fine, your idle will be rough and there may be some stalls, but other than that you will be ok. I drove mine for a while untuned and didn't really feel a huge difference. Once you get tuned the topend greatly improves
