I recently bought an 05 MR and finally broke it in and started to drive it a little harder. The MR comes stock with a boost guage but it reads bars instead of PSI. Well when I drive it hard boost will go all the way past 1.5bar then tapper down to bellow 1.5bar probally around 17psi. but for some reason in 3rd gear the boost tappers down all the way below 1bar (14.7psi). I dont think its supposed to go down that far. I dont think it feels as strong as other stock evo's I have driven.

Can anybody tell me if this is normal or not?

i dont think it should drop below 1 bar. my regular evo didnt drop below 15 psi. i was under the impression the mr's were supposed to not tapper like the evos? i dunno.

 

My car only has 1100 miles on it.... and I babied it all the way to 1000 miles. Nothing should be wrong with this car.???!!! anybody have any idea what could cause this?

 

Make sure all your clamps are tight, you might have a very slight leak. If it only happens in third gear this might not be right but it pays to check just in case.

yeah check all your connections, they do come loose from the factory, just go through all your hoses nad flip the clamps around so they don't face under the damn car and tighten them down until they're completely solid... especially the bov, that might be why you're tapering. perhaps in 4th and 5th the boost builds slower so you don't see it happen, could also be that the gauge is off... stock gauges are worthless most of the time.
