I just installed the HKS 264/272 cams. I was wandering is there a break in for the cams, and what is it.

Also, get this: I was installing ARP stud bolts at the same time, and I was down to the tenth bolt and went to put some assembly lube on the nut and noticed ARP never threaded the nut. The freakin thing was smooth on the inside. Talk about a nice surprise, when your just about to finish the whole job.

 

when gruppe-s installed mine they let the car idle for about 15-30 mins just to let everything settle in.then rev it to about 1k for a couple of mins.after that i ran it as i do daily then changed the oil.

 

Thanks, I wasn't sure. I heard you were suppose to keep the engine at about 2000 RPM's when you first start it. But, if Gruppe S did your car and it's working fine, sounds good to me.

 

no problem i was wondering at first what they were doing till they do that they were breaking in the cams.

 

What did you do about the nut?
