Defi D boost gauge reads high?

My Defi D boost gauge reads 1 psi higher than the boost indicated on my Blitz electronic boost controller. They share a common vacuum hose from the manifold, so one of them is off.

How many people have tested their Defi D gauge against another gauge? What did you find?

D boost gauge is a mechanical gauge I would tend to trust the gauge over the electronic controller but thats just my opinion.

Maybe your gauge is off? Is it at 0 when your car is off?

I have a Zeitroniz with Kavlico boost sensor (more accurate than most boost gauges and also used on EMS). My Defi D reads 20 psi and the Zeitronix(zt-2) readt 17-18. I have heard of many people who have accurate gauges to compare. Most boost gauges vary a little in accuracy (the main reason standalones use Kavlico sensors). What is funny is that at stock my EVO was running jsut over 16psi...makes you think

So you "hear". Actually this is the first negative I have heard on the Defis. The consensus is that the Defis are one of the best, from people that actually have them. About 50% of the Evo population swear by the D boost gauge, very accurate. Omoris are actually pretty good also, just that the Defis match the factory dash lights.

D gauge

I received my D gauge and it read 1.5 psi in the box. It took me 2 months before I installed it (don't ask why). I think they are POS. I also bought an EGT and oil pressure gauge from them but have not installed them yet (waiting on guage pod from a slow vendor). I used Apex'i in my previous car and was impressed with the quality of the product. Defi is very cheap looking and obviously way off.

I heard of a bad batch of Defi Ds floating around a while back. I've had my Defi D for almost a year now and I have no problems with it. The quality looks good to me and mine sits at 0. I don't know how accurate the gauge is since I have no basis for comparison. But to me, I think its working just fine.

Unless you guys have checked your d gauge to something else....you might think nothing was wrong with it. Again, when my car was dynoed my gauge read 1.5-2lbs higher than the gauge on the dyno. The shop owner had seen this before.

D gauges suck in my opinion. Thats just unacceptable. Would never buy another one.

That's funny, mine reads zero in the box.

Defi D's are the only ones that match the dash.
