With dead nuts tuning, I believe more has been made (550's) on an OE block, and survived before an optional build... however, "reliable" is relative. Search is your friend...
I believe it was AMS cranking out 550hp/440 ft lbs on a stock engine with a claimed 500 or more dyno pulls... I don't know how many of those pulls were over your 500hp number though...
