HKS RS Intake and oil on the filter?
I have the hks rs intake on my evo and have changed out the foam twice in 6 ,000 miles, and I keep noticing black oil, grease on the filter? Where is this coming from and what is it.Normal?
Im thinking of getting the Apexi power pro air filter to replace the foam element on the hks rs if it will hook up?
Any idea on this and if anyone has done this change let me know.
Thanks

You are supposed to change the filter every 5k or so depending on driving conditions.
I have the same gunk build up and I praise the filter for doing its job.

Well here is a picture of what mine looks like,,,, the really stained one was on for like 5k miles. The thing I dont get is it looks like the major oil is on the outside of the filter? Wouldnt it be on the inside where the air is blowing from when it vents?
Also after i put a new filter on,wow i sure could tell the car was pulling alot better and more responsive.... Also would a Bushur hard upper ic pipe help better because they have they bov bulit into the upper arm, and it wont go through the filter?
But anyways I guess $25 for a new filter every 5K isnt too bad?
Just wanted the others to see what the filter looks like and if thiers is the same.
Thanks
