Downpipe question

When installing the downpipe, how much do you tighten the spring bolts? I was not paying attention when I took them off so I am not sure if they were fully tight or if the spring had some give. I will assume that there should be some gap between the spring coils but I don't know how much. Any help is appreciated.

Tighten about 2 rotations after the spring begins to compress.... You should then be in business
