Need help getting turbine housing off.

I'm trying to replace the turbine housing. I got the turbo off the car. I took the clamp off that holds the turbine housing to the center cartridge, but the housing won't budge. I think it's feeling the effects of the open hood. The housing has rust all over it, and I'm suspecting that that's what's holding the two together. I soaked the thing with WD-40, and smacked it a couple of times with a rubber mallet. I'm afraid that once it does come apart, that the housing will rotate off-center and hit the blades. Any suggestions?

When I disassembled my old T3/T4 I used a hair dryer to heat up the exhaust housing then hit is with a rubber mallet. But I hit it kind of sideways to make the exhaust housing rotate it clock wise. Once it moved just a little, it came off easy.

Ah, got it. I called Forced Performance for a little help. All it needed was a couple smacks in the right places to come off.

BTW, the turbine housing can't rotate on these. There is a pin that locks it into place, so it can't rotate. Thanks for the ideas, Whoop.

Wish I would have seen this sooner to help you out... yes, they are "clocked" with a pin.
