Intake Man. & Throttlebody Help

I know a decent amount about DSM's and some for my Evo but I had a question regarding the intake manifold and the throttlebody. I know with DSM's most intake manifolds will require you to modify your upper ic piping to make them fit. Is that the same for the Evo as well.. it seems that the manifolds are lower on the EVO so maybe they will fit with no mods.

The other question I had is about the throttlebody... Should I get my head port matched for the intake manifold and throttlebody to get any decent difference? And what size throttlebody should I go with? Bigger is better or will that kill my bottom end power... I am going to keep the stock turbo (At least for now... Im trying to get 400 with it). Thanks guys

I'm using the Works max bore TB (62mm I think). Anyway, it's slightly bigger than the intake manifold inlet and it drives fine. In fact better than before. I feel I got better torque out of it than lose it at the low-end.
I'm using the Injen upper ic pipe/intake fit but it will fit fine with stock ic pipe.

Well if I do either they will be together. The manifold is what I am wondering about the fitment for. I believe normally people need to hack thier upper IC pipes to make them fit. I was wondering if there is any reason to get the largest size possible on the throttlebody even though my head isnt ported to match.

Works uses stock TB which has been bored out and a new intake flap installed so it will fit fine with all stock or other ic pipes.
Not sure about any other brand of TB if someone makes them.

Bringing this thread back, Buschur has his 65 mm ported throttlebody, is there any benefit to go to this upgrade vs stock one. (also already have ported head, Ported exaust mani and Shetmetal intake)

what about spool with bigger throttlebody?????
Please Adviseeee

We did a bunch of testing this winter, you can find the old dyno thread on here somewhere. Some parts worked, some didn't.

Works throttle body, the larger one, I think they call it the Aperature 2, does make power. Our throttle body is 65mm and is equal to the power the Works unit makes, no difference.

Now the catch here is to realize the full 10 whp gains that either of us claims our parts make you HAVE to port the intake manifold to match the opening of the throttle body AND get a gasket that is large enough too.

We do the intake runners, matching them to the head and enlarge the TB opening in the intake for $75. The larger gasket and 65 mm TB are $300.

David, what about spool with bigger throttle body and Bigger Manifold. I also have Hondata intake gasket.

Thanks

I don't think the spool up difference in measureable either way. If I remember right from the dyno sheets the gains were across the entire RPM range.
