maybe not depressing clutch long enough or far enough when downshifting.

If it sounds more like whiny siren type noise then goes away once the clutch pedal is let off, it's normal. It's the clutch making the noise and resonating.
I have it too.

no slipping . It never made this noise until yesterday. Just a loud *** metal on metal whine type noise and a vibration thing. The best way to put it is when ur pads rub on ur rotors thats the exactly what it sounds like but from the clutch.
