Thumbs up Installed cams 264/272

I installed these a few days ago and all I have to say is wow. This is the setup that should have came with the car, the stock cams choke the turbo so much I had no idea. I have yet to get these tuned but can't wait to install my UTEC and then tune them, should be a night and day difference. The idle is a little unstable at a red light but actully sounds great. My idle dropped to around 600-700 and it won't go below that. So on to the next mod.

I wish I was still around to see your car now. You and I have came a long way since I moved. I went with 264's i/e I almost wish I would have went the same route you did. So now what's your next mod? I will be adding a new fmic and piping along with a larger 02 housing and some 680cc to 720cc injectors.

good to hear that

I'm sitting on the same combo, just have to get installed.
Although, I was contemplating on selling my 272e for a 264e
because of the idle issues? I assume you're not using any cam
gears? wonder how much it would help the idle without losing
power?

How's the torque before 3500-4000rpms?

I'm starting to lean towards the UTEC myself.

lil evo- yeah we did come a long way, too bad you left us here in the freezing cold. I'm still trying to move to AZ things kinda fell through last time. Or if you know of any decent jobs in NV let me know.

A4- I bought mine locally for 540

GP- torque feels really good even before that. I was amazed on how choked the turbo was, Im still not use to the extra power and im only boosting at 15psi, my HKS BC took a crap a few weeks ago.

Good news is that my UTEC just arrived while I was in the middle of typing this, so we will be back at 20psi by tonight and hopefully with tuned cams.

My next mod after the UTEC is probably going to be, IC, clutch, and a turbo. I'm leaning towards the RNR kit. I would buy AMS but they are too damn expensive and the get their turbos locally built in Milwaukee by Fuel Systems.

I dont know where you got your information from but AMS has never bought a turbo from Fuel systems. We sell Garrett via Precision Turbo.. always have

So did you get the tune done with the UTEC? I'm waiting to hear how it went with the install and all.
