Stroker questions

I was wondering if anyone knows the ups and downs of a stroker? Everyone I have talked to said they can both handle about the same hp. So other than not being able to rev to 9500rpm why would you not do a stroker and is there any real reason to rev that high anyway? Any firsthand knowledge is greatly appriciated. thanks everyone

you make more torque on a stroker, a well built stroker engine you can take it to 8k no prob, a well built 2.0 liter engine you can take to 9k. It's just a different powerband....on a gt35r for say a stroker's power band would be from 4-8k approx with ridiculous torque and on a 2.0 built engine, you'd have a powerband from 5-9k with less torque. You are correct, both versions will make approx the same amount of hp but the stroker will make significantly more torque. Stroker would probably be more ideal for daily driving since the powerband is more or less in the right place.
