Spiking is dependent on a lot of things. Start your pull at 2K and you won't spike. Start at 4K and you likely will. Weather can also affect spiking. Don't worry if you are.

I agree with all this, but you made no mention of what an "acceptable" spike is. Weather or no weather, there's a limit of what is "normal" operation.

Are you spiking to 30 psi or something? Why don't you tell us what you are spiking to.

Fair enough. 1.6 bar. The duration it stays between 1.5 and 1.6 varies. Sometimes it's a split second, other times it's a full second or two.

No...the car is not and will not be modded. One control variable is digital gauge accuracy. I have to do a bit more legwork into the resolution and display trends.

Your gauge is reading high. There is nothing wrong with the spike, it is within acceptable limits. You're reading about 22 psi when it should be reading about 19-20.

Actually 23.2 psi. That seems a bit high to be entirely error. Perhaps half of that deviation from 20.31 psi is due to the gauge, but I'd need to test some more.

Defi Link BF boost gauge, its peak memory function, and its three minutes of recording.

God, how could the gauge be that far off? It's not a POS by any means.

Maybe they have some calibration issues from the factory. Keep in mind that price does not indicate quality. BMW's are pieces of crap!

Enough speculation and conjecture...I'd like to hear some facts, bench tests, gauge comparisons, etc.
