Boost cut then "service engine" light.

So I installed my mbc yesterday and drove around testing it and adjusting it. Today on my way to work I hit boost cut and then my "service engine soon" light came on. Any ideas?

Also, Vw's have Vag-com which reads codes and logs data. Does anyone make something like that for Mitsu? Thanks

Go to AUto Zone and have them erase it.

Unplugging the battery will turn off the light but it will come back on if the code stored itself.

any ODBII reader that can reset codes will do.

This can be done for free at any Autozone.

Make sure you take a note of what codes it threw. P0234 is what should match the reason why you have the MBC set too high.

you dont have to waste your time going to autozone. Unplug the neg terminal on the battery for alittle while, or just unplug the most left ECU harness plug and plug it back in.

I would recommend going to Autozone and pulling the code. The code is not there to get erased the code I there so you would know what’s going on.

and since it's boost cut we can tell you exactly what every other Evo that hits boost cut is gonna say.

now if the code just came on say becuase of normal driving and you didnt know something went on, then yes Id get it checked out.

Like I said before, this resets the CEL but does not erase the code from the system. Go to Auto Zone.

you assume too much in my opinion. it doesn't hurt to actually pull the code to confirm.

plus i'm not a big fan of having to reload all of the settings to my audio because it lost all power.

blindly resetting the ECU is not good practice.

actually if you reset the Ecu by pulling the harness you lose no audio settings.

I just did the negative battery terminal disconnect and mine has never come back on. That was about 6 months ago. It definitely can't hurt though to go to Autozone just to be sure.

Whatever you like dude. Any pro knows that pulling the code is the way to go and just resetting the battery is kinda dumb.

Good luck
