IM getting injen intake upper ic pipe, hallman boost controller, and rnr's new exhaust o2 housing back with high flow cat. Turbotrix is coming to town in 2 weeks going to get the car custom tuned should i upgrade my fuel pump prior to it? I dont plan on doing anymore mods will it benefit me any. I would honestly prefer not to change it b/ i dont want to hear a pump whining or have to worry about keeping a 1/4 tank of gas

Im having TT put my fuel pump in March when I get tuned.. Its a very wise investment. Why do you need to keep 1/4 tank of gas with a Walbro fuel pump?

First off why do you say keep a 1/4 tank of gas To answer your question I would not do it if you plan to keep boost @21psi.

$80 could save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

I'm getting one with my setup, which will probably be similar to yours. Frankly, if you are concerned about the noise / whine it will give off, have you actually been listening to your car lately? Mine creaks and makes noises every chance it gets anyway, thats what radios are for!

Ive always heard that its a good idea to keep 1/4 tank of gas if u chang ur pump. Maybe not. I Just got my car its got 3400 miles looking to do some basic things to it then thats about all. are the pumps noisey?

When I had my GSX (Eclipse), the shop that installed my fuel pump told me to drive the car around till I had a 1/4 tank as well. It is so there isn't to much gas in the tank to get to the pump without making a mess. I am assuming it would be this way for most cars.

Pump the pump in! It doesn't whine that bad! You will barely even notice it. Its cheap insurance for your motor. I have a similar setup to yours, I feel better knowing I have it in there

I'm not understaing this, can someone shed some light on this? You should keep a 1/4 tank of gas when you upgrade fuel pumps so the fuel pump doesn't make a mess in the gas tank? Does that mean you're always suppose to drive around with a 1/4 tank of gas? I've never herd of anything special when upgrading fuel pumps. Anyone else got some feedback they can comment on here.

I think thats 2 things that are mixed together....

1 was saying you should only have a 1/4 tank when u install the pump to avoid making a mess - i agree with that, makes it alot easier

The other thing was some1 sayin u shouldnt drive around w/less than a 1/4 tank after u install it (regular driving) I have not heard that before and i tend to drive till i need gas
