Max boost on stock turbo w/race gas

I've seen people running up to 27psi with it tappering to 21-22 by redline. Is this the max psi a stock turbo will hold or would it be better to get it tuned for 24-25 psi on race gas(or alcohol inj.)? Thanks.

I am running 22 psi on 96 octane. Once I get a better fuel pump I might up it to 24 psi tho.

like i was told by almost every Evo tuner out there, the stock turbo is good til like 20-21 psi anything after that it gets in-efficient and gets so hot that it just doesnt make power. which i believe them now from playing around with mine back when i had a stock turbo i would run constant great power on highway or ne where on 21psi then if i up it to 23-24 i had great power for like a few seconds then it was gone and felt slower than 21 psi because of heat. so ya that i heard from many shops that work with the evo

well upgrade the i/c and run more psi, the factory turbo wide open can make 30+ i have done so, but keep in mind i wasnt running around town that way, the piping keeps blowing apart every time i hit 23 or higher and release the throttle. and yes i have upgraded piping and clamps. but on another note, running race fuel through the factory injectors can and has f**ked injectors, they dont like 110 octane or more.

26psi tapering down to 20psi at redline is pretty efficient.
