ACT Pressure Plate Spring

Anyone heard of or experienced a problem with the spring that holds the T/O bearing to the pressure plate, I'm running the ACT clutch and Fidanza flywheel and I was flyin down the road and my T/O bearing popped out and wont hook back up, from fooling with the stock parts I see the little spring mechanism is the problem. I almost got the tranny out. Is this something I can fix or do I need a new pressure plate?

I was also thinking about a shorter slave cylinder rod... anybody got any comments about it?
