Need advice on my car being "safe"

I need some advice on running my car @ the track with the mods in my sig but with no tune. I'm still running the stock ecu, no afc, no flash. My question to you is will the stock ecu be able to keep the car safe with race gas and boost @ like 23-25psi? I am trying to wait as long as I can before I get a flash because of money, but it looks like the track is going to open up before I can get to a shop to do so... I'm worried that something may go wrong though when run at WOT.. Also, I have the cam gears set at +2,+2 is this ok? ANY advice or suggestions will be much appreciated! I searched but got lots of long threads that dont directly relate to my questions.. Thanks again

-Josh

You run 25# and don't hit fuel cut?

The carbon spark plug cover may push it over the top . Now when you say track are we talking long interval @ WOT or running 1/4's?

I wouldn't do it if I were you. From your mods, you aren't adding any fuel to the mix... considering you have big ole cams and wanting to run 25#

I'd flash and then play. It's a lot more expensive to fix it once it breaks than it is to do it right the first time

Yeah I really don't think 25psi is a good idea with out a tune.

Thanks guys, just what I wanted to know.. I was talking about 1/4, no road tracks up here, so i'm stuck with drags :/ .... By adding fuel to the mix, do you mean with a walboro/injectors? or are you talking about adjusting the afr in the ecu? I'm assuming the latter. Thanks again

From what I understand, you can't go up to 23-25 psi on the stock ECU.

I have the ralliart ECU on my 7 and it peaks @ 21psi (1.5 bar) whereas it fully opens up the injectors so you run the risk of running rich..

Stock ECU, I don't recommend you go over 18psi if you don't wanna experience fuel cuts..

Like the guy above stated, I didn't think you could hit 23+# without fuel cut, but I hadn't tried so I wasn't for certain.

However, like your sig says... get a flash

It's pointless to run anything past 23psi on the stock turbo .. Anything after that is outside the eficiency range of the turbo - basically you'll be blowing hot air into it and it will most likely be detrimental and not beneficial for you and your engine.

If you are running for 1/4 mile untuned - do it but @ 21-23 psi on race gas - nothing higher. I've known a few people untuned with almsot identical mods do just fine .. but not run 24-25 you'll hit fuel/boost cut.

Get a tune ... bad ...

I'm kind of in the same boat as you...but no one tunes anywhere near good ol wilmington NC. There are places that have a dyno, but no tuners! I know eurospeed tunes AEM EMS but i can't afford an AEM EMS right now...bummer. Thats why i chose to drive 7 450 miles to ATL to topspeed and get a tune down there...either that or drive 450 to NJ for turbotrix i haven't decided yet. I know none of this helps but i just wanted to *****. Get a tune before you push you car with those mods...easy answer.
