It sounds like you have more water in the engine that is feasibly possible with cap being off. I think you need to answer the question about how much water is in the engine before you do anything. Someone tell me how the water is going to get in the oil cap hole on the valve cover when it doesn't even come close to the hole in the hood and when the hood is shut the hole would be quite close to the hood, thereby allowing less space for this to happen. Something is fishy here.

yeah i don't know how so much water could get in with the hood down either. either way you need to drain you oil and run some through your engine a couple of times.

You probably did not get any water in the engine. Change the oil and refill it properly and your done. If you had water in it you would know because it looks like coffee with cream or a milky brown color. The cap stays because the hood kept it there. Look at the hood and you will probably see a mark on the bottom side where it was trapped.

Well it sounds like you have your mind set... so I guess there isn't much left to troubleshoot

You know why God hates you? You don't capitalize enough. Seriously. The Christian God is a vengeful God, and you don't show the proper respect:
Jesus
God
Christian/Christianity
Him/He

All caps my friend.

PS- God doesn't care about your Evo. It's a car- not a graven image or a golden calf... And it's a little self righteous and egocentric to think that God, with all the problems facing the world, is gonna take the time to mess with YOU because you really appreciate and enjoy the engineering that goes into a sports car. If you don't want it, I'll take it off your hands- of course God would expect you to just give it to me because financial hardship is to be your punishment for your idolatry. Maybe you're destined to wander on foot, through the deserted flatland of the midwest for 40 years.

I think your dad is right- you don't have enough sense to do your own oil change..... you really should reTHINK med school; malpractice insurance is WAY expensive. If you think God is mad at you about a car, imagine how ticked He'll be when you kill someone because you forgot to reattach a heart valve.

Food for thought.
