VR-4 engine in an evo?

Anyone know if this is possible?
And how hard would it be to do?

The benefits are obvious....but what are the downsides?

Thanks

No they aren't.

The 4G63 has been a proven power plant for many years. I don't really see how you would think there is an obvious benifit to a VR4 motor. Also, I have a hard time beliving that someone that claims to run 11's can't see a downside in attempting to install a vr4 motor.

Won't that put more weight on the front? I don't think the car will drive the same.

Has anyone ever look at the bigger displacement for the 6g72, 6g74, and 6g75? In the 3g eclipse, the engine bay is already made to swallow such big motor. When the 4g64 is placed inside the 3g eclipse, the 4 banger is very small as with swallowing a 4g63T (rare swap).

As for the Evo, it was NEVER made to swallow a 6 banger of that size. This is the same Q that has been asked amongst the mirage and regular lancer.

If you want to compete against H&A crowd w/ tons of money to blow and hack up the firewall and build a new fron clip, go ahead. These are the same guy who have NO LONG term goal.

well I know there are downsides...but the displacement factor is a big role.
I know the 4G63 is reliable and strong but I'm talkin about a fully built VR4 motor.

The fastest 3000GT(VR4 motor) is not as fast as the Turbo Trix EVO (1/4 mile). So, again, I don't see how it's obvious that the vr4 motor is a benifit.

Fastest VR4: Altered Atmosphere 10.71 @ 137mph. That's a full second slower thant the TT EVO.

Anyway, can it be done? No idea, depends on how much money you have.

I reccomend putting an RB26 or a 2JZ in there, and hook it up to the EVO 5 speed. It's kinda long, but I'm sure you'll figure out something.

I am actually working on this swap this weekend, I will post pics when I am done. Next I am going with a twin T88 setup, it should be really fast!
