? about rev limit

My 04 GSR is relatively stock, only drop in filter and ground wires. I can rev all the way to 8K without hitting rev or fuel cut. No jerking, no stumbling. I've been told that this is not normal. Anyone else able to do this in stock form?

7666 is my factory rev-limiter. I had it reflashed to get to 8k Your must have been reflashed. I also have an 04 GSR.

No reflash, bought it brand new. 12K miles on it now. Anyone have any explainations? Again, my car is STOCK except for drop in filter and ground wires.

There is a slight error in the tach reading. What you see on the dash isn't always a true representation of what is actually taking place. It may be that your error is larger than others and the ECU appears to have no rev limiter. I would be surprised if it was truely absent, but I suppose it's not out of the realm of possibility.

8000? Not after a while. You have no reason to go that high stock, anyway. This might be tach error like Jamie says. Easiest way to find out is to flash the car with a flash that has a 2-stage limiter, then flash back to stock, or perhaps just reflash with stock and see if it still goes to 8k.
