I want another stock clutch
I want another stock clutch
Yes, you read it right. I replaced my stock clutch, which was still fine at 30k miles for the clutchmasters stage 3 only to have the worst luck ever.
-500 miles after clutch install and of easy driving my transfer case goes bad
-can't quick shift at high rpms anymore and the clutch pedal has been adjusted so many times and it still won't allow me to shift quickly while on boost and at hight rpms above 6800rpm
- engagement is not as smooth as I would like
Anyone know the cheapest place to get another stock clutch?
Also, in case some are wondering what fluids i'm running. I am running Redline MT90 in the tranny, diaqueen in the new 05 limited slip diff, and redline something in the rear diff. Same fluids that I was running before with my stock clutch and it was just fine.

Mitsubishi specifies the Diaqueen LSD Gear Oil in the transfer case and rear end of the EVOs. I personally would not use the Redline stuff in the rear. BTW, what type of clutch is the Clutchmasters Stage 3? What kind of disc is used?
Isn't Stage 3 a racing clutch? Also I don't think Clutchmasters is one of the top clutches for our cars. The consensus seems to be ACT, Exedy, and the very expensive RPS carbon.
Shucks I left my stock set up on the floor in my dealer's shop. Why not go with Works? They have a fine clutch and F/W. Not to mention that since you are a solid customer they may even talk price.

Is this really an OE clutch? Found it on ebay

If driven with some degree of mechanical sympathy, i.e letting things cool down between runs, not smoking the clutch run after run, then the stock clutch is fine. I personally plan on picking up another stock clutch for the same reasons, on top of the fact that i like having a fail safe of sorts in the driveline to keep things intact.
Just picked up a brand new OE clutch for 293 dollars shipped. I'm done playing with aftermarket clutches. I know that with the power i'm putting down that the stock clutch is fine and I don't drag the car or race it except for the occasional spirited driving when traffic is slim.

PS... seriously thinking about getting an accord hybrid. I'm tired of all this stress and money going down the drain.
