Ppl w/ Greddy Type-S...question...

Ok, I was wondering if on the Greddy Type s bov, if the "lower" nipple can be dremmeled off and possible covered with a small "weld dot" to eliminate the hole. I had the type-s before, and loved it, but too much hassle with stumbling. Can this be done? On that metal? My theory is that if that nipple was eliminated, stumbling would go bye bye...any thoughts or does anyone know if I can do that? Thanks!

Alot of people complain over the stumbling.

From what I have observed, if it holds boost, it stutters and stumbles, if it doesn't, then it doesn't hold boost.

I would seriously consider selling and getting the APS BOV, I have never read a bad thing about one.

No, I don't have the type-s now, but want to get one again... if I can just weld that small nipple, it would be all cool. Just wanna know if I can do that to plug the hole for deffinite

I dont think u need to weld it....u could probably just plug it up with rubber or something. If u weld it, then u can never unplug the hole. In case u ever wanna sell it or VTA, u could just find a temporary solution.

Do the single spring mod, I also run a tube from the top nipple to the bottom nipple, the car doesnt stumble or anything for me, runs perfect.

YES... You can weld it closed if you want.... But I don't know why wou would want to do that... You can get the Type-s to work fine without doing anything with the lower nipple.... If you experiance stumbleing you need to loosen the screw at the top. You will want to use ONLY the larger spring in the valve...\

BTW I would NOT run the Upper and Lower nipples together. The lower nipple is designed to receive a pressure ONLY source. The upper nipple if for your vacuum line from the Intake Man. DO NOT connect them together...

Yea, i was gonna say that doesnt make sense! I was thinking to myself how that guy managed to connect the vacuum line with the lower port on the BOV.....all that would do is recirculate the are throughout the BOV, making it pretty much useless. Oh well, i just had this crazy picture in my head of this guy's setup. Anyways, like he said, dont connect them!

no, i wasnt going to connect them...dosen't make sense.

But isnt the lower nipple always open? like a constant boost leak? or am I wrong? I'm gonna get a type s and do the single spring mod. But am I right about the lower nipple?

The lower nipple is for VTA. You run a line from it to the intake pipe But only IF your VTA. Leave it alone if your not. I agree with "mooreboost" get a APS. Not one problem with it in any mannor.
