Hey guys..a little help with my evo?

well...im pretty sure im going to be getting an intake and greddy-type s bov recirculating for my evo soon...but i heard i need some sort of tuning to make my car run more efficient..is there something that i can buy that'll help me control it automatically...what does an AFC do? and do i need that? and all i want is to be able to have these in my car without damaging any thing...like turbo, etc.

Bang for buck you are better off getting a flash.
Hope this helps...

I agree with the flash because of changing the timing and the afc cant do that. I would wait on the BOV because the stock is loud when you put a intake on and works fine until you really start modding and you could put that $ into other areas like a boost controller or something

What's the purpose of buying intake and BOV? If you want to go "faster", then the money should be spent elsewhere first. Those modifications offer very little performance for the buck.

I would wait on the bov. (unless your stock one is leaking and loosing boost)
AFC do something right, because our cars run rich from the factory, you need to dyno
your car after installing safc to get the right settings. First just get Manual boost or electronic one, then flash Or full exhaust (if you dont have one allready) g'luck

i have the hks rs intake(supposidly one of the best), but ive heard that the stock set up is really good w/ a k&n filter drop, the aftermarket intakes and bov are ok to add but not serving their FULL potential until you get some kind of ecu flash. ive had my hks rs intake and blitz bov on for about a year now w/ no flash, but im getting it custome tuned by al next week. if your looking for performace, get a tb exhaust, mbc and ecu flash. if you get more significant mods such as cams or other engine internals the s-afc2 is a good investment.

Do not buy an AFC unless you know how to work one or a friend of yours knows how to work one. I think it would be a pain in the *** to have to get a shop to do it for you everytime you decide to change something on the car. Plus if you do not know how to use and go ****ing with it, some bad things could happen.

AL's flash. Your car will pull like theres no tomorrow. Also Get a TBE, Manual Boost Controller, and a Boost Gauge and you are looking at 12.5-12.9 1/4 depend on how you drive.

If you wanna mess with settings yourself and want a user-friendly engine management system... might wanna consider the TurboXS UTEC... I have one for sale too! =]
