Question Help on Check Engine Code.....

The check light engine on my car came on so I stop by Autozone to see what the codes were. I was surprise to see that there were three codes.

DTC P0171: System too Lean
DTC P0340: Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit
DTC P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit

Anyone have these codes before? Is my 02 sensor going bad or what. My other sensors bad too? This could explain why my car is running as if there was a boost leak. I run the turbo xs rfl bov and 100 unleaded octane only once during the custom dyno tune dual flash. Any idea or suggestions. Car is an 03 EVO with bascially a BRS4 setup. I can't recall what happen to cause the CEL but the car drives the same as before. Boost seems to be a little laggy in 2nd and 3rd but better in 4th and 5th gear.

Thanks.

A nice long explanation of your mods, what year evo, exactly what you were doing when these lights came on, how the car felt when it happened, the conditions of the atmosphere (like weather) when this happened, etc. would all help.

By the way, I've had all 3 of those codes before as well... both position sensor circuit CELs at the same time. Nothing to worry about.

you may have a bad cam sensor, or possibly jumped time a little bit. one of our 03's did that, replaced sensor, timing belt, and tensioner, and it is all better now

Thanks. Is there a way to determine whether the timing jumped without putting the car in TDC and looking at the cam gears. I'll reset the ECU, locate the sensors and disconnect/reconnect them and see if the CEL comes back.

This car is giving me headaches!!! Never had so much problem and service maintenance with a car that have this low of mileage.

I believe the scanner can but anyone know if the scanner can tell whether the code is current or in history?

I have almost the same situation here, but the p0171 code come up at low RPM or while idle. About the P0335 and P0340, they came up while idle and when the car almost stall at the stop light, I think that's not a big deal since it happened after a stall and I touched the gas pedal couple of times to prevent stall issues.
But about code P0171, got me thinking cause only happened at low RPM and/or at idle, and after the reflash was done... also, I have the HKS 264 - 272 cams combo.

Any additional help would be must appreciated.

See my mods at my sig....

The P0171 is probably caused because your LTFT is over 12. Do you have a logger that will show LTFT and STFT?
