P0300 Issue.

ok, had my car reflashed by mistu several times and it's still doing it. I can't get rid of my P0300 error msg. Now, I don't mind the CEL light to come on, but when the car is beeing driven on 5th gear, under light acceleration... then all of a sudden the car feels like it's limping. Then I would get the CEL light. (P0300) I just can't take it anymore. HELLLLP

It seems like there are a lot of people experiencing this problem, but yet to find a solution. So if there's anyone out there found a solution... please let me know.

I've tried just about everything to get rid of this problem... but have not been successsssfull!

I want to know what the dealerships are telling all these people with P0300 issues. I have it, but will never take my car to a dealership. Just wondering if Mitsubishi just gave up on it or what.

Do a search. Al from Dynoflash claims ... well ... something about the problem. Someone else here offered to fix it for folks for $100 or $200 bucks. Something about soldering around on your ECU's connections.

I've yet to see anything that defines the problem exactly with any official confirmation - let alone a fix.

For me, stay out of 5th gear unless over 65mph and learn how to reset it quickly with the fuses underhood - til you decided to get a cheap OBDII reader and reset tool.

Good luck!

well, I do a lot of freeway driving... so i'll be in 5th most of the times. I don't mind if only the CEL light pop up, but it's the drivability issue that i'm getting that is pissing me off. The car would go into limp mode, feels like there is no power at all, and the car would shutter. I had to let off the accelerator then reapply to make it go away. Anyone else is experiencing this? what solutions did you find?

I have your exact symptoms although it didn't always seem to result in drivability issues, just the code but that changed and it's almost always drivability as well now. I can't use 5th on a 55mph road (I constantly drive 6-9mph over) but I do on the interstate (65mph limit).

Yes, it pisses one off. No, I know of no outright fix. Dave at Vishnu apparently replaced his 5spd tranny with a 6spd MR tranny. Seems a bit extreme, eh? But he thinks it's fixed it.

I had that code for the longest time but it went away after I replaced the plug wires with the 8.5mm Magnecor kind.

I get the same code, but I don't experience any driveability problems. Maybe it is the UTEC taking over and cancelling the driveability. Another neat feature is the UTEC can disable the cel, and only flash when knock is occuring. Anyway, that is related to the topic, but good luck on your quest for answers.

myfirstevo, are you on the socalevo website also. because someone with the same sn had the same problem. anyways, according to him he ignored the ses light. and when he took it to the dealership he found out he had 2 bad pistons. if that wasn't you, then taking it to a dealership or to someone you trust that can diagnose it for you, might be a good idea. i had the same problem. i just changed my plugs back to stock and so far so good. the thing is with this p0300 code it could be a lot of things. i've heard people just changing their plugs and it went away. others changed their wires. that's what sucks about this code. they're is really a 100% way to get rid of it. i've also heard that al from dynoflash has a remedy for it. if that code comes back i'm giving al a call or taking it to a dealership.
