air intake (cone) or drop in high air flow filter??

adding an air scoop is alot better than big hole in the stock air box.

i agree if its hp your looking for then a scoop will give you colder air than the open intake. RMR makes a pretty trick cf piece that goes on our hood vent. yes as you can see in my sig. i have an open intake, but i knew that it wasnt going to give me anything up front. but with the tuning that i will be doing it will help in the long run, and i like the sound much better. but no there isnt any gains. as far as open intakes go - do not change the post MAF piping with the smooth hks or aem, the air flow becomes to smooth and the MAF will freak out unless you are tuned for those types of CAI. as for drop in filters i recom. the k&n line. i have used them for over 10 years, no problems ever.
