I have dyno sheets showing my bone stock EVO vs my EVO as it sits now with the 272 intake and exahust cams. There is no drop in low end power between the two setups, so in my view the 272's with the higher top end power are the way to go.

the 272s or the 272in/264ex cams by GSC...these produce a little more low end torque that hits alittle harder...I would roll with this combo...

got mine from LogicPerformance here on the board and tuned by TOPSPEED. They were drop shipped from GSC which is only like 3 hrs from my house here in SC...These cams are MEAN!!! They will get to you in 2 days also!! cant beat it for under 500 bucks shipped..
Oh yeah to ***, cam gears are not needed, maybe down the road it would be fun to experiment with them, but a s far as these cams just drop em in and smile from ear to ear, and listen to people ask, what cams are those again.

HKS 272/272. Theyre proven and reliable and not too pricey!

well, when I had just my exhaust, intake and Ic piping. i went 13.1@102mph. With the addition of my Xede, cams, cam gears and tuning. I should hit real close to a 12.2-12.1. I went 7.98@89mph in the 1/8th mile saturday morning(2:00 am with slick previously wet and cold track). all my mods are in my sig. I really love the power of my 272's 3rd gear seems to really pull hard. I raced a STI at the track. I bog the launch really bad, so he jumped me by about a car 1/2. when I shifted into 3rd gear. it was like he hit his brakes. I blew past him like a rocket. granted he was mostly stock. He stoped me at the end of the track and asked what I had done. he was really interested in the car and ended up being a pretty cool guy. with the 272's. the car seems to take a second breath in 3rd and 4th gear. it pulls some much harder up top now.

I AGREE!!! and honestly all cam combos will do that on the Evo regardless of brand.....I like them all HKS,GSC,Crower,etc..but I do love my GSC 272/264 and sure I made the right choice, Hell I could always get a 272ex to see the difference(if any)...I am just glad to see some Evos make some serious power....I am expecting a 12.2 or so too the first time at the track with the new cams, clutch and tuning...
