evo ix turbo vs viii

How do you guys think the IX's turbo will comapre to the VIII. Will it be able to push any more HP in your opinion or do you think it will be pretty much the same? The difference being the compressor using a magnesium alloy instead of aluminum alloy. Sorry if this is a stupid ?.

I saw the side by side pic of the evo 8's turbo and the evo 9's turbo and there is significant difference in size.
Oh well... I'll just enjoy what I got right now.

Yes, because the Evo I was the best Evo ever. It can still whup the pants off of highly modified Evos in its stock form! Long live Evo I!

I'm not sure if we're getting the magnesium wheel for any of the USDM cars. I think that only the JDM/UK Evo IX GT and RS models get that. The GSR retains the aluminum wheel because of reliability issues (magnesium is brittle and requires replacing sooner than aluminum).

interesting mis information ..
the magnesium so touted in the press release is only for the COMPRESSOR COVER .. not the wheel .. don't be mistaken ..

So you're saying the press release and even the mitsubishi web site is wrong then?

I'm extremely sorry for misinforming the public. My greatest apologies go out to you all. I did not realize that it was an option on the JDM GSR. Please forgive me.

The part about the IX being far, far slower than the VIII is true though. They should've just stopped the "Evolution" at it's eighth iteration.

I haven't heard anything about the IX being slower. The vid's and numbers I've seen look good!
