Installed my JDM Diverter Valve tonight (MUST READ)

And why is this a must read? There have been tons of topics covering the MR DV and you're not exactly the first to try this component in a US Evo...

I was wondering how does the MR JDM compare to the metal BOV from the first gen Eclipse which is also metal.
Buschur racing sells the upper intercooler pipe with the first gen Eclipse BOV, they also kind of look identical.
I heard from so many second gen Eclipse owner that the 1st gen eclipse BOV was listed as one of the first mods to hold boost.
Any feedback on that? Thanks!

Switched from JDM MR BOV to stock one while awaiting install of buschur upper I/C pipes, did nothing else(Had sold JDM MR BOV,thats why the switch)and lost 2lbs of boost, thats right 2 lbs of boost,WOW.Took all of about 10 minutes to change,so weather and engine temps had nothing to do with loosing 2 lbs of boost.Other than that driveability and everything else was the same, just the 2 psi loss was all(no,there was no boost leaks created from the change over). In conclusion,2 thumbs up for the JDM MR bov,and the stock plastic one is a POS.

as far as I could tell.. both the JDM and the stock valve hold 21psi with no probs, but the JDM valve made my car stall out if i slightly tapped the throttle while parking, etc... so I switched back to the stock valve...
Slightly... (very slightly)... off topic, but I knew that my 03 black plastic was leaking above 22 psi, so I bought the Greddy type S and sealed up the leak, had to turn the boost back down a bit afterwards because of the replacement.
Just wondering why you guys are choosing the DV over a BOV? I try to avoid the bling factor whenever possible, but I liked the adjustability of the Greddy for different boost levels.
Somebody fill me in.
Thanks
