Would u get 272 cams if your car is stalling?

My Evo will stall sometimes when in low rpms in 1st gear, like when I am slowing down. It has gotten better with a grounding system, but still happens. It is even worse with the AC on. I am going to get a 02 simulator hoping it will help.

But I want to get HKS 272 cams for mid and high end power, but I heard they run rough at idle and can make the car stall. Well, since mine is stalling sometimes already I was wondering if it could make it stall like all the time. Or maybe could it be stalling because of a boost leak somewhere? Would would u do?

Make sure you SAFC is set for 4 cyl not 5 or 6.. that makes a big diff.. or your TT is wired wrong... check and check again.... make sure you MAF is also hooked in all the way....

The o2 sim will not effect idle or rpms... it is basiclly just for inspection purposes... just gets rid of the cel...

I honestly wouldn't do the cams until your have your idle problem resolved.. sounds like you may have a vacuum leak somewhere, or if your BOV is a VTA or I think it can do both, and you have too much air bypassed and not enough recirculated.

I am guessing the AROSpeed air filter is an intake pipe and filter?
That would be the cause of the stalling. You can tune around it with a flash.
At least I know Al can, I don't know if that is a trick of his or if TT would be able to do it.

i have had a crappy idle for about 10 months now ever since i installed my buschur intercooler with piping kit. and now it is even worse now that i put my buschur turbo inlet pipe on. once i finally go and install my 264s at pruven i will ask them to check everything out.

I have the GFB Stealth BOV, u can put it to total recirc or VTA, right now I have it set to 50% recirc and VTA. I know ppl that have total VTA BOVs and they don't stall like mine.

No, just the filter is aftermarket. The MAF pipe is still stock.

Do u know how much the stealership would charge to look for a vacuum leak? Would they test each hose?

Its your GFB bov. Yes you can run it fully recirculating but you have to play around to get the right settings. I know exactly what your car is doing because mine would do the same. I would stall everytime going up a steep incline or when letting off the gas.. not so with the stocker, although the stocker definately leaks boost.

Probably an hourly rate.. Unfortunately I don't have a high opinion of many dealership mechanics.. I stopped bringing my car to the dealership when I realized I was much better at troubleshooting problems than they were. I just bring my car in when it needs recall work, or to have something done that they can't possibly screw up.

Dude I got the GFB with an aftermarket filter. Mine used to stall all the time. I set it to fully recirc. and then reset the ECU. And it worked. It is still loud enough for my taste w/the filter. hope it helps
